1. Efficient hot water preparation
The great special feature of the Modul-plus is its unique cell flow principle. It combines the advantages of a calorifier and a continuous-flow water heater - without the space requirements and energy losses of a storage tank.
The storage cells serve as a highly efficient heat exchanger for large continuous outputs and at the same time deliver an extraordinary high 10-minute output - simply ingenious!
The water is heated very efficiently via the very large heat exchanger surface. At the same time, the comparatively small cells have low energy
losses. This means that the total energy requirement remains very low.

No chance for bacteria
Due to the double shell principle, the sanitary inner wall temperatures are only marginally lower than the heating flow temperature. The cultivation of a biofilm in which legionella or other bacteria growth can occur is significantly reduced.
What’s more, the small hydraulic diameter guarantees that water flows reliably through the entire cylinder and dead zones are prevented. With these characteristics, the Modul-plus becomes a guarantee for a safe and perfectly hygienic water supply.

High output – less space
Thanks to its high continuous output, the Modul-plus requires significantly less floor space than conventional calorifiers that store a day’s worth of water.
The Modul-plus can be placed directly next to the boiler with closely coupled pipe work. This reduces the installation costs. In particularly confined spaces, there is also the option for multi-part installation.
The Modul-plus is supplied in smaller units and can be transported to the boiler installation room in disassembled parts. Hoval specialists then carry out the final installation work on-site.


4. Highly efficient counter-flow
The cells containing the domestic hot water are surrounded by a double shell through which heating water rotates. Inside the cell, the domestic water rotates in the opposite direction.
This counterflow principle with a large heat exchanger surface (1.25 m²
for 100l of water) ensures efficient heat transfer, enabling a continuously high output.
 
5. Easy cleaning ensures constant heat transfer
The heat transfer system for the Modul-plus is much more resistant to calcification than conventional calorifers. This results in constant heat transfer and reduces the required maintenance time significantly .
The stainless steel modular cells and robust design support a long service life. Focus was put on ensuring easy and convenient cleaning as well as effortless access to the individual modular cells. Each cell can be accessed from the front which facilitates the cleaning process.
